The Funny Side stand-up comedy courses have moved online. The next one will start on Tuesday 13th April and give you the opportunity to try writing and performing stand-up comedy. No previous experience is necessary.
The course will run weekly online on Zoom for 6 Tuesdays at 7pm and on the 7th Tuesday (2nd March) there will be an online ‘graduation’ show.
Stand-Up comedy is a discipline that can be learned and we have a course here to take you from creating material through to performing in seven weeks! So if you’ve always wanted to try out your jokes on an unsuspecting world (and let’s face it who hasn’t) then why not take your first steps into stand-up comedy under the guidance of experienced tutor, Peter More. The participants will be coached in finding inspiration, writing, performing, dealing with the audience (in club situations) and encouraged to develop their own style.
Peter has been teaching stand-up for nearly 10 years. As a performer, he founded two clubs in Amsterdam. In 2019 at least 4 former students had shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
After booking you will be emailed your log-ins for the online classes.
Dates: There will be classes on April 13th, April 20th, April 27th, May 4th, May 11th, May 18th and a show on May 25th.
Note: If you cannot make the first week don’t worry – you may join the course up to week 2.
Tech requirements: You will need a laptop, desktop computer or tablet with video and audio. A phone will NOT be suitable. You will also require a reliable internet connection.
Times: 7.00pm-9.15pm (UK time)
Prices: £120.00 + booking fee (£90.00 Concessions + booking fee)
Venue: The venue for all classes, and the graduation show, will be online in front of your computer.
Refund policy: Attendees can receive refunds up to 14 days before the date of the first class. After this no refunds can be made. Also please make sure the tech requirements are okay BEFORE joining – we cannot offer refunds if you discover your device or broadband connection isn’t suitable.
Minimum age is 18.
